Luke spends the summer with his "grandma" Darlene
Luke's grandpa built a wealthy life and left his widow very comfortable. Darlene was significantly younger than Luke's grandma, almost as young as his mom, which built a special bond between the two. they were more like close friends, than the just the lady who took grandma's place after she passed. even though he called her grandma, neither ever felt the name represent the bond and friendship they built. Luke spent the summer working around the house, fixing little things, working out, getting ready for his freshman year at college, swimming in the pool, hanging out with Darlene and just keeping her company. Darlene loved having a man around the house, especially a young, handsome one like Luke. He was extremely bright, and she was very well read, with three degrees of her own. They spent hours talking about all sorts of topics, and she was amazed at his intelligence. She had Luke join her at many social events catering to the wealthy, introducing him to several of her closest friends. Interesting how almost every one of Darlene's friends were attractive, fit, relatively young, single, divorced or widowed women. Luke enjoyed the attention, and absolutely loved socializing with all these gorgeous, sophisticated women. He and Darlene went for a long walk in the park one day. She instinctively reached out and took his hand. He didn't expect the reaction his body gave him as he held hers. As they walked, an attraction that was always under the surface, began to build. They glanced at each other in confusion/embarrassment and realized they both felt it.
